Job Summary
We are looking for a leader and people manager with a strong track record in residential
construction who is dedicated to safety, organization, cleanliness, adherence to schedules and
budgets, as well as teaching and providing an outstanding client experience. This senior position
is our top role in the Renovation Construction team, requiring a highly communicative and self-
sufficient team player to act as our representative when we are not present at the job site.
Responsibilities include ensuring the success of both our internal construction team and external
subcontractors. Although this is still a ‘bags-on’ position, we expect the individual to delegate tasks
when necessary to uphold high-quality standards and deliver a unique customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
The Sr. Lead Carpenter at NOR Design and Construction manages our construction team and
oversees the daily job site production of residential remodeling projects, ensuring quality,
efficiency, and client satisfaction. This ‘bags-on’ role involves managing our internal construction
team and trade professionals, coordinating project schedules, solving obstacles, and performing
skilled carpentry and standard construction tasks, all while maintaining a tidy and safe workspace
for both the client and the workers.

- Provide support to the design team as needed, i.e., construction methods and best practices and cost-saving alternatives…
- Be familiar with the project scope of any given job site
- Manage / Oversee subcontractors on job sites, provide support as needed, inspect and approve of work completed, and ensure they are keeping a clean and safe workspace
- Project Demo and disposal
- Setup and take down of proper dust and floor protection at the start of the project and maintained throughout the project
- General framing and structural changes
- Cabinet and trim/molding Install
- Door and Window install
- Interior finish trim/molding/casing work
- Basic flooring installation/repair
- General handyman maintenance and repairs for existing and new customers
- Assist in hiring and managing future Assistant Carpenters as approved by owners.
- Project scheduling and construction timeline estimation
- Project budgeting support for raw materials required for projects
- Material pickup/delivery, within reason
- Oversight with city inspectors to ensure no project delays with inspections
- Support with defining cost savings on projects and procedures per project and with company best practices
- Basic Procurement duties include inspecting packages/items as they are received. Verify model numbers and quantities received against what was ordered. Maintain client inventory prior to installation.
- Company Asset and Supply Management. Ensure we have what we need, not what we don’t.

- Keeps calm, cool, concise communication, both verbal and written
- Can communicate via in-person with clients and is proficient with group phone text and emails
- Tools for the job, keeping them in good working order
- Construction-appropriate, reliable transportation
- Clean driving record with proof of insurance
- Able to pass required pre-employment screenings, including criminal background, MVR, and drug screenings
- Able to perform physical exertion, including carrying, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, hauling, and lifting as much as 100lbs
- Familiar with and maintain current OSHA and L&I safety requirements
- Willingness to obtain/maintain First Aid/CPR Cert.
- Must live within 30 miles radius of Seattle
Preferred Skills/Experience
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience of hands-on Residential construction with advanced carpentry skills and prior supervisory experience
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience in framing windows, doors, siding, cabinetry, and finish carpentry
- Ability to comprehend basic CAD construction documents (floor plans, elevations, & sections)
- Microsoft Office Products: Office, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
- Willingness to learn other project planning apps or software
Compensation/Benefits
